Proper commissioning of the filling machine is critical to its service life. We need to follow standardized operating practices to prevent equipment damage, as mechanical operation demands strict attention to details. How can such damage be avoided? The recommendations offered by Qingzhou Jiutai Machinery are expected to be helpful for you.
I. Operating Instructions
Working Mode: When the conveyor belt is running, simply place empty bottles onto the conveyor for automatic bottle feeding and filling. The photoelectric sensor on the conveyor will automatically detect empty bottles. When an empty bottle is positioned under the filling head, a filling signal will be triggered automatically, and the mechanical turntable rotates. Filling starts once the target empty bottle is in place and stops when the preset filling volume is reached. The machine will only rotate when the bottle-in photoelectric eye detects incoming empty bottles.
After production, if you need to remove filled containers, you can manually trigger the photoelectric eye to discharge containers one by one from the slots of the bottle turntable. Once work is finished, cut off the power supply immediately or press the emergency stop button to reset the filling program.
Filling Speed Adjustment: Air throttle valves are fitted on the air inlet connectors at the top and bottom of the cylinder. Adjust the flow rate of the throttle valves to change the moving speed of the cylinder piston, so as to set the required filling speed.
Filling Volume Adjustment: To adjust the filling volume, move the sensor switch installed outside the cylinder up and down (regulated by the handwheel at the lower left).
Air Pressure Adjustment: Air pressure adjustment supplies stable air source for filling and protects the machine from excessive pressure. Adjust the air pressure valve to keep the working pressure within the range of 0.6–0.8 MPa.
Unstable Metering (Fluctuating Filling Volume): Disassemble the feed valve below the hopper. Debris may be stuck on the valve seat, causing poor sealing of the feed valve. This leads to material backflow or leakage and inaccurate metering.
Dripping after Filling: Post-filling dripping is usually caused by an oversized filling head or volatile filling materials such as methanol and alcohol products. If there is debris in the material, disassemble and clean the valve of the filling head. Material leakage at the lower part of the cylinder body indicates piston wear, and the piston needs replacement. After piston replacement, align the central shaft and cylinder connecting shaft before reassembling the whole machine.
Machine Leveling: The machine must be placed on flat ground. Tilting will result in inaccurate filling volume. Adjust the fixed support feet under the machine to keep it horizontal.
Pre-operation Cleaning: Clean the machine before startup. Conduct cleaning in compliance with GMP standards according to different sanitary requirements for filled materials including food, cosmetics, detergents and chemicals. You may also fill the material tank with clean water and run test filling to clean all components of the filling system during the test run.
Pre-start Preparation: Add an appropriate amount of filling material or water into the material tank for lubrication before startup. Do not run the machine idle for a long time; otherwise, sealing rings will wear out.
Periodic Cleaning & Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain the machine. For paste materials, perform cleaning every 3–4 days; for liquid materials, perform cleaning every 6–7 days.
